We may also provide you opportunities to submit personal information about other individuals. For instance, you may choose to send a notice through the site to a friend regarding content offered by the site. Or when you gift wine to a friend. We will not use the personal information of these individuals for any other purpose unless we disclose otherwise at the time you provide the information.

We will also collect information of how you have used the site in order to improve the user experience. This is done by means of cookies. When you visit the website, a cookie is a piece of information sent to your computer by our web server. To optimize your experience, a cookie helps to recognize you when you re-visit the site. If you have registered as a member, you may update or modify some of the information that you actively provided through the site, including your e-mail marketing preferences, by logging into your member account. In addition, you may deactivate your member account.

How do we store your personal information?

Your personal information is digitally stored on site with a third party service provider in Australia and overseas. We also keep a backup on premises and/or hard copies. BFV is a South African (SA) company and therefore Bosman Wines UK’s (BFV-UK) information will be stored in SA since it is being operated from SA. BFV-UK has agreements with its storage providers to keep personal information secure and they are using appropriate and reasonable security measures.

Payment details provided through the BFV-UK website are processed through a secure server. Payment is made and details are stored by Stripe, a PCI certified merchant mechanism. Stripe (PCI DSS) securely saves customer card information, it is not stored on internal BFV or BFV-UK servers.

Disclosure of Information

We may, in our sole discretion, share information with third parties that is not associated with your name or identity, such as web site usage information, anonymous demographic information, and aggregate user statistics. We may share personal information with third parties as described at the time you provide the information and under the following circumstances:

Service Providers: We may share your personal information with third party service providers so that they may perform certain services for us, such as web site hosting, order fulfillment, clearing and processing credit and debit card payments, or performing other services on our behalf.  As these third parties are situated offshore, your personal information may be transmitted, stored or accessed in overseas jurisdiction, including Canada, Australia and South-Africa.

By proceeding to submit your personal information, you give consent for the storage, transmitting and access of your personal information by third parties in overseas jurisdiction.

Business Transfers: We reserve the right to disclose and transfer personal information about you including, without limitation, during the course of any due diligence process: (i) to a subsequent owner, co-owner or operator of a Site; or (ii) in connection with a corporate merger, consolidation, restructuring, sale of substantially all of the Winery stock and/or assets or other corporate change. 

Legal and Safety Obligations: We may disclose your personal information: (i) if we are required to respond to subpoenas, court orders, legal process or other valid law enforcement measures; (ii) at the request of governmental authorities conducting an investigation; (iii) when we believe in good faith that the law requires disclosure; (iv) to verify or enforce compliance with the Winery Terms of Use or other policies governing the site; (v) whenever we believe disclosure is necessary to limit our legal liability or to protect or enforce the rights, interests, or safety of the site, visitors to the site or other third parties; or (vi) to respond to an emergency. 

Parental/Age Advisory

The site is not directed to children or individuals younger than 18. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone younger than 18. In the event that we discover that we collected personal information about a child or individual younger than 18, we will delete the personal information.

No data transmission over the Internet or electronic storage of information can be guaranteed to be 100% secure or hacker proof. While we have implemented security measures, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us or through the site.

Modifications to the Privacy Policy

We reserve the right, at any time and from time to time, for any reason in our sole discretion and without prior notice or liability, to change, modify, amend and/or update this Privacy Policy. Credit card acquiring and security

Credit card transactions will be processed for BFV-UK via Stripe. Stripe complies with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS). Stripe is a merchant mechanism that replaces merchant accounts and payment gateways. Stripe is PCI compliant and have level 1 certification which is regarded as the most stringent level of certification available. Your payment information is therefore always safe.

BFV-UK understand the importance of privacy and security. BFV-UK are committed to protecting the information collected from you and guarantee that it will only be used for purposes of processing your order and providing you with services you request from BFV-UK.

When signing up for the Bosman Wine Club UK, you agree to having your credit card charged on a quarterly basis for your quarterly wine delivery. Your credit card will always be charged on the 1st of the months of February, May, August and November. If your credit card on file has expired or proves to be unsuccessful, you will personally be contacted via telephone or email, requesting you to update your credit card details online. Your card will then be charges as soon as it’s been updated.

It is however important to note that you accept the inherent security risk of dealing online when supplying us with personal information through the BFV-UK website. When registering as a Bosman Wine Club UK member through this website, you will receive a password. It is your responsibility to keep this password confidential. All transactions and activities that occur using your password is your responsibility and you must notify us immediately should you notice any unauthorised use of your password.
